Bee Hives
Our bee hive expansion programme continues with two new sites set upon the Rougham Esate this year. This brings the total to 15 colonies on five sites with more planned for 2015.

Ride widening in Mellfield Wood
Rougham Estate employed a tree surgeon and conservationist to tidy up one of the footpaths on the Estate and cleared up the area around the ponds to make way for all the deer, muntjac, badgers, pheasants, ducks etc.

We have native bluebells growing in several of our woods. You will be pleased to know that these are not the Spanish type!

Hornbeam Pollards
Two anciant hornbeam pollards were re-pollarded this winter during a ride widening scheme in Mellfield Wood. This will extend their lives and continues an ancient forestry practice.
